Quick start guide

It takes only 5 minutes to get your first quote request out to hundreds of suppliers on Lumi. Here’s how.

1 Add a delivery location

Go to Settings > Locations and press Add location to save a delivery location to your address book.

2 Create an item

Go to your Items view and press Add new item to customize a product that you can request quotes for. See our guide on creating items.

3 Send your quote request

Go to your Quoting view and press Request quote to create a quote request for your item(s). You can open your quote request to all relevant suppliers, and/or send a direct request to your preferred supplier by searching the Supplier Directory. See our guide on requesting quotes.

Note: a Lumi plan is required to request quotes and collaborate with suppliers

4 Compare quotes

Within a few hours or days, you should see suppliers participate on your quote request.

  • Review your quotes: Upon receiving quotes, you can review and message suppliers with any questions about specs, pricing, lead times, or additional quantity breaks.

  • Apply for payment terms: By default, payment is due in full when an order is placed. Need to set up terms? Submit an application and message with your supplier on the quote to get payment terms from them.

  • Choose a quote: Press "Save quote" to begin ordering. See our guide on choosing a quote.

5 Place an order

  • Submit order: Ready to order? After saving a quote you can draft and submit orders. See our guide on drafting and submitting orders.

  • Approve proof: Before your order enters production, you will need to approve your proof. See our guide on approving and rejecting a proof.

  • Check order status: Need to check in on production status? You can message suppliers directly on an order. See our guide on messaging suppliers.
